Fixtures / Training

Fixtures:

Our season will recommence in September, and for the season 2010/11 we will be competing in the following competitions: Midland Division One Outdoor League (1 team), Midland Division 2 Outdoor League (1 team), Midland Indoor league (1 team), SHU District Cup (1 team) and Midland Knock-Out Cup (2 teams) and Midland League Cup (2 teams). 

Training:

Training takes place once a week on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm til 8pm at the astroturf pitch, KGV Playing Fields, Kinross and runs from 4th August 2010 until 27th April 2011. Women and girls from the age of 14 upwards are welcome, and our aim is to encourage interest in the sport of hockey for all ages and abilities. Suitable footwear should be worn, no metal studs are allowed. £2 training fee applies.

Kinross Junior Hockey Club:

Kinross Junior Hockey Club was founded in 1992 by Helen Davidson and is still being run by Helen today. She is a great ambassador for the sport and delights in encouraging youngsters to pick up a stick and enjoy hockey. The junior club offers training for P6 and P7 primary school pupils and takes place on Tuesdays from 4pm to 5pm at Loch Leven Community Campus (note new venue). These sessions are now also free of charge.

Kinross Kobras:

Kinross Kobras are a junior club suitable for all girls and boys under the age of 14. These training sessions take place on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm til 7.30pm at KGV Playing Fields and are currently run by Andy McIntyre from the Kinross (mens) Hockey Club. Dependent upon suitable numbers the Kobras may enter teams in various U14, U12 and U10 competitions within the Midland District. These training sessions are free of charge.

Location: 

Kinross Ladies training and home matches take place at KGV Playing Fields, The Muirs, Kinross, KY13 8AU. The pitch can be booked by contacting Loch Leven Leisure Centre on 01577 863368.

Mixed Summer Hockey: 

In conjunction with Kinross Hockey Club mixed summer hockey training takes place once a week on Wednesdays from 6.30pm til 8pm. A chance to keep your skills going over the summer with friendly matches and social tournaments, and a small mixed hockey league within Midland District. Training starts this year on May 12th 2010 and will run until July 28th 2010, ladies training then restarts.
